Leon Rosby had the unfortunate task of watching his dog be killed by a police officer during his arrest.
The story we reported Tuesday, on the Hawthorne police officers that shot a man’s dog while arresting him has resulted in the duties of several of the officers to be cut back.
The three officers seen on the video have been yanked off the streets until further notice because the police department fears for their safety. One of the officers has even been receiving death threats, according to ABC News. After the shooting was posted online, it received 3.7 million hits on YouTube.
The dog’s owner, Leon Rosby, has filed a lawsuit against the police department for the death of his dog. His dog was mercilessly shot four times rather than disabled by the officer, so that the owner could possibly calm his dog down. We will let you know as the case progresses if the officers will receive any form of punishment.
